First Book

This is my first quilt book. I bought in 1994 at The Times Bookstore, Riverside Shopping Complex as a gift to my mum. Since we both sharing the same hobby & she also stays with me, so i keep it.

That time, i just do it as a hobby to keep my leisure time busy, especially when my baby was asleep. Surely nothing to do. As time passed by, i was fascinated by the art of quilting. I don't stop searching for the books, material.

Everywhere I go, i loved to stop by at the bookstore. The first thing i look for is quilting books. It's like an addicted habit for me. Of cos, back in 1990's.. mana ada internet to surf. But today, i like to surf website such as homes&gardens, McCall'squilting, Allpeoplequilt and so much others website. My uncle Googles help me so much in the searching. I'm still doing the research on quilting as in Malaysia especially in Kuching, not many people do it as business. I know few quilt shops that not last long. I hope i can open a shop one day..

Turn Hobby to business

I loved quilting so much. I want to thank my mum because she introduce me to this hobby. It is not only a hobby and i manage to sell some of my projects. I remember when i first "fall in love" with this hobby. That was 14 yrs ago after i gave birth to my eldest daughter. During maternity, i was so boring and after 40 days i started to quilt. I bought a book of quilting. Start from that day, i can't stop quilting auntil today. Eventhough i work full-time but i used to quilt during weekend and sometimes i quilt at night depends on what project.

This project was for my niece malay wedding. Her mum asked me to do the quilt of bedsheet, 2 pillow case & 1 booster. I thought i want to charge them but at last it is FOC. But i don't care as long as i got satisfaction overthere.
